This website was set up by East Belfast-based Avec Solutions, one of Northern Ireland's most successful social economy companies, as a resource for local community groups in Belfast interested in establishing their own sustainable community businesses.

In areas of Belfast afflicted by social and economic deprivation, the skills and confidence required to establish successful businesses, let alone self-sustaining social economic enterprises, are often lacking, and people need a degree of encouragement, training, and support to start the business formation process. Through this website, both in the information and links presented on it, as well as through online peer support, we hope that this encouragement and support can be found.
